Apple quietly updated all four Magic Keyboard models with MacBook-style symbol-only keycaps, replacing written labels on Tab, Caps Lock, Shift, Return, and Delete keys with glyphs matching those introduced on MacBook Pro and MacBook Air in March. The change spans the standard $99 model, compact Touch ID version at $149, and extended keyboards with Touch ID and numeric keypad in white ($179) and black ($199). Prices remain unchanged from the USB-C versions launched in October 2024.

Each keyboard received a new part number and is marked as new in listings, though names, specifications, and compatibility are identical. The symbols align with macOS menu displays and keyboard-shortcut instructions, bringing US English standalone keyboards in line with newer MacBooks and international layouts. Apple has not announced the revision or disclosed shipping timelines; older versions may persist at third-party retailers until inventory clears.
