Apple Maps Ads: What's In and Out

Apple has released new advertising guidelines for Apple Maps, detailing which businesses can advertise and implementing stricter policies than competitors like Google. Ads are set to appear in Apple Maps search results starting April 14, 2026.

Key restrictions include outright bans on categories such as bail bonding services, cryptocurrency ATMs, and all home services like plumbing, electrical, and roofing. While medical services may be considered, they will undergo a case-by-case evaluation. Political advertising is also completely prohibited on Apple Maps.

Advertisers must adhere to Apple's overall advertising policy, ensuring clear presentation and truthful claims, with Apple reserving broad discretion to reject ads. The rollout of these ads follows years of speculation, with official confirmation in March 2026 indicating a Summer 2026 launch.
