Apple Lakeside in Essex, England will reopen on September 12 following a major redesign after nearly 20 years. The renovated store adds a dedicated Apple Pickup area, expanded accessibility features including variable-height seating and assisted listening systems, and a brand new experience room for customers to explore products. Located in Essex, the upgrade is part of Apple's larger effort to modernize its stores worldwide, with plans to open or renovate 50 locations by 2027.

The redesign includes sustainable material choices and enhanced visual and acoustic clarity. The all-new space features a designated Genius Bar for personalized support and free Today at Apple sessions. Apple lists the store open through September 10, before a one-day closure on September 11.

The redesigned store will open at 9:00 a.m. local time on September 12. Apple opened its first UK store on Regent Street in 2004 and currently operates 39 stores in the UK. The upgrade comes as Apple is set to permanently close the Apple Festival Place in Basingstoke, England, in November 2026.
