While Apple prioritizes on-device AI, requests sent to Private Cloud Compute servers incur costs that will be covered by increased usage tokens for higher-tier subscribers.

iCloud+ tiers range from $1/month for 50GB to $60/month for 12TB, with AI token allowances scaling accordingly. The $10/month 2TB tier unlocks unlimited HomeKit Secure Video cameras with AI video analysis, also included in Apple One Premier. Cook admitted it's "uncertain" whether iCloud+ revenue will balance AI operating expenditures, which are expected to rise.

Apple Intelligence and Siri AI remain free for compatible devices, but server-side operations are token-limited. The free 5GB iCloud tier offers minimal tokens, while Apple One bundles include iCloud+ at various levels. Analysts speculate Apple may eventually sell separate token packs or subscriptions beyond storage tiers.
