Apple A20 Pro: 40% Faster, New Thermal Design

Apple's iPhone 18 Pro introduces a redesigned thermal system and the new A20 Pro chip, promising significant performance gains. The A20 Pro features a six-core CPU with two super cores that are up to 20% faster, and a seven-core GPU delivering up to 40% better graphics performance over the A19 Pro. A dual Neural Engine setup enhances AI capabilities.

The chip also uses a new packaging method inspired by M-series chips, placing the silicon die side-by-side with memory. This removes memory from the thermal path, allowing the chip to connect directly to an improved vapor chamber. The vapor chamber is made with 80% recycled steel and has three times the surface area of the iPhone 17 Pro's, plus thermally conductive graphite and nano-twin copper.

This better heat dissipation supports sustained performance in graphics-intensive games and high-throughput cellular connections. Overall, the iPhone 18 Pro offers a substantial upgrade for users seeking faster speeds and improved thermal management.
