Samsung discontinued its Samsung Messages app in the U.S. earlier this month, leaving Galaxy users without a familiar messaging experience. To fill the gap, a new third‑party app called Messages by Ozarks Made has been built to mirror Samsung’s One UI design and bring back many of the features users love.

The beta already supports SMS, MMS, RCS, group chats, scheduled messages, and conversation categories. Because Google’s RCS infrastructure isn’t open to third‑party apps, users must keep Google Messages installed in the background for RCS to work, but they can continue using Messages by Ozarks Made as their primary app. Beta users can also schedule messages and organize conversations into categories, echoing the familiar layout.

Once the app exits beta, the developer plans to release it for a one‑time purchase of $0.99. Interested users can sign up for the beta on the developer’s website and try the experience before the public launch.

While Google Messages has improved, it still doesn’t replicate the full Samsung Messages experience. Messages by Ozarks Made aims to bridge that gap, offering a near‑identical interface and modern RCS support, though chat themes are slated for a future update.
