Carrier representatives claim these older plans date back to the 3G and 4G eras. To offset the cost, the company is offering a 5-year price guarantee alongside new perks like ad-free Netflix and improved data features. These new tiers fall under the Experience Signatures, Select, More, and Beyond categories, attempting to modernize their service architecture.

Customer backlash is already mounting across Reddit and social media. Some users have even filed complaints in state courts regarding the price lock guarantees. Disgruntled subscribers are reportedly looking toward competitors like Verizon to avoid these forced migrations. T-Mobile has begun sending notifications to affected accounts to prepare them for the upcoming billing changes.
