AT&T Raises Legacy Unlimited Plan Prices Amid Inconsistencies

AT&T is increasing prices for its retired unlimited wireless plans starting this month, but the implementation is inconsistent across customers. The carrier announced the price hikes in April, with single-line plans rising by $10 monthly and multiple-line plans increasing by $20. This change affects plans active before July 24, 2025.

However, CNET reports the carrier is applying these increases unevenly. An AT&T subscriber found discrepancies: one support page cited a $5 increase per line, while another support article showed plans with less than 6GB data rising $5 monthly and those with more than 6GB rising $10 monthly. This inconsistency adds confusion for customers facing the price hikes.

The move appears aimed at pushing users towards newer, more profitable unlimited plans. As always, consumers should shop around for the best current deals within their carrier and competitors. The changes highlight ongoing challenges in mobile plan pricing transparency.
