Samsung’s new clip‑on earbuds may be Galaxy Buds On

Rumors swirling around Samsung’s next earbud line have shifted the product’s name from Galaxy Buds Able to Galaxy Buds On, according to a tipster on X named evowizz. The leak shows the device is coded as SM‑U600 in Samsung’s Wearables app, replacing the usual R code with U, a tag that Samsung uses for U.S. releases. Another post by Sammy Guru found the Galaxy Able string inside the app beneath the Galaxy Buds 4 Pro, hinting that the original moniker might still exist in internal drafts.

Both rumors point to a bone‑conduction design that clips onto the ear. The system would transmit sound through the skull, bypassing the ear canal. Proponents say this could free users from traditional earbuds, but critics note that bone conduction typically sacrifices low‑frequency response, potentially limiting bass depth compared to in‑ear or open‑ear models.

Samsung is not the first to explore this path. Brands like Aftershokz and Bose have released bone‑conduction products, but the market remains niche. Without a public spec sheet, charging case details, or battery life, consumers and reviewers can only speculate about performance and price.

Until Samsung confirms a release date or prototype, the rumors remain speculative. The name change and internal coding suggest at least one iteration is moving through development pipelines, but the lack of concrete hardware data means the industry cannot yet gauge whether the device will address the appeal gaps left by typical earbuds.
