Samsung posted a staggering Q1 2026 revenue of 133.9 trillion KRW, roughly $90 billion, a 43 percent jump from the previous quarter. Operating profit surged to 57.2 trillion KRW, reflecting a 753% year‑over‑year rise. The bulk of the gain came from its Device Solutions unit, which rode an AI‑driven memory boom.

The Device Solutions division logged 81.7 trillion KRW in sales, breaking its quarterly record by mass‑producing HBM4 and SOCAMM2 chips for NVIDIA’s Vera Rubin platform and launching PCIe Gen6 SSDs on schedule. Limited supply and higher pricing amplified margins, but the upside stayed tied to Samsung’s technical lead rather than consumer price drops.

The AI surge continues to fuel server‑memory orders, prompting Samsung to ship its first HBM4E samples in Q2 and keep its lead in the high‑bandwidth market. Meanwhile, the Foundry unit is gearing up for 2 nm production in the latter half of 2026, aiming to supply faster chips for future Galaxy models.

Galaxy sales climbed to 38.1 trillion KRW, a 30 percent quarter‑over‑quarter increase, yet operating profit fell 34.9 percent year‑over‑year as premium pricing failed to offset slowing demand. Samsung plans to refresh its A‑series and push foldables later in 2026, but immediate consumer impact remains limited despite the semiconductor windfall.
