Google’s Tensor G6 specs leak sparks GPU concerns

Leaker MysticLeaks shared a Telegram screenshot that claims Google’s upcoming Tensor G6 will adopt a 1+4+2 CPU layout. One ARM C1‑Ultra core is said to hit 4.11 GHz, backed by four C1‑Pro cores at 3.38 GHz and two slower C1‑Pro cores at 2.65 GHz. The tipster also linked the chip to the Pixel 11, 11 Pro and 11 Pro XL codenames Cubs, Grizzly and Kodiak, and retain current power efficiency.

Compared with the Tensor 5’s 1+5+2 arrangement—Cortex‑X4 at 3.78 GHz, five A725 cores at 3.05 GHz and two A520 cores at 2.25 GHz—the rumored configuration suggests a modest uplift in raw CPU throughput. Earlier leaks hinted the silicon would move to a 2 nm process at TSMC, a step that could narrow the gap with Qualcomm’s flagship offerings. Projected single‑core scores may top 1,200, edging Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.

Troubling is the claim the G6 will ship with a PowerVR C‑Series CXTP‑48‑1536 GPU, a graphics block first seen five years ago. Developers have already flagged the GPU as a bottleneck in recent Pixel releases, warning that titles like Genshin Impact could suffer frame‑rate drops. If true, gaming performance may mirror Tensor 5 results, leaving the Pixel 11 series’ competitiveness in doubt.
