Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Hinge Upgrade Promises Near‑Zero Crease

Samsung is set to unveil a redesigned hinge for the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and its Ultra variant, a change that targets the long‑standing display crease issue that has plagued foldables.

Tipster Ice Universe revealed on X that the new mechanism feels noticeably different from past models. The hinge now resists intermediate opening angles, delivering a more decisive folding action. As a result, the crease performance reaches the top tier of the industry, matching the virtually crease‑free Oppo Find N6 launched earlier this year.

Both the standard and Ultra models will benefit from this upgrade. Samsung plans to launch the series later this month and has already launched a teaser campaign. The foldable’s larger, passport‑style form factor positions it as a direct competitor to the upcoming Apple foldable.

For consumers, the improved hinge means a cleaner display and a sturdier feel when opening the device. Industry observers see this as a generational leap that could push Samsung ahead in the foldable race.
