Samsung Galaxy S27 Camera Move for Qi2

Samsung may significantly alter the Galaxy S27 design by repositioning its camera system to accommodate Qi2.2 wireless charging technology. According to supply chain sources, the current camera layout blocks the area where magnets would need to be placed for proper magnetic wireless charging support, which has become standard on Apple's iPhones with MagSafe.

The Korean tech giant has already explored Qi2 compatibility but currently relies on cases with built-in magnets rather than native hardware implementation. This redesign would mark the first major change to the S series design in five years, addressing a long-standing limitation for Android users who have watched iPhone users enjoy MagSafe benefits for several years.

Production costs could potentially derail Samsung's redesign plans, forcing the company to maintain its aging design for another year. If implemented, users would gain magnetic charging without bulky cases, better accessory support, and a refreshed flagship design that Samsung hasn't delivered since the S22 series. Final decisions likely won't be visible until early 2027.
