Samsung Eyes AI Call Screening for Galaxy S25 Amid Confusion

Samsung’s latest rumor suggests the company might ship its AI‑powered Call Screening to the Galaxy S25 line in a future software update. The feature, first seen on the Galaxy S26, lets the phone answer unknown callers, transcribe the conversation, and flag spam automatically. If the tweak arrives with One UI 8.5, S25 owners could finally enjoy the same convenience.

Earlier this month, SamMobile cited a Samsung Community moderator who said the company was preparing a “future patch” for the S25 series, potentially adding more AI tools such as Audio Eraser, Now Brief, and Photo Assist. The report also warned that other new AI conveniences—Notification Highlights and Agentic AI—might stay locked to the newer S26 models.

A conflicting claim surfaced from an April 3 outlet that Samsung has decided to keep the S26‑only AI features exclusive to the new flagship. The moderator’s post echoed that the company would begin rolling out these conveniences only with the Galaxy S26, implying the S25 might never receive the same updates.

Given the mixed signals and the fact that the S26 already received its April security patch in India and Europe, consumers will need to wait for an official One UI 8.5 release before deciding whether the S25 can catch up. For now, the AI Call Screening remains a feature that separates the newer model from its predecessor.
