Samsung rolls out a new document‑scanning capability across its Galaxy lineup. The feature, called Document Scan, stitches multiple photos into a single PDF—a first for the brand. Debuting on the Galaxy S26 series, it will soon reach older models that qualify for One UI 8.5, letting users convert paperwork with a single tap.

To make the tool even more accessible, Samsung added a homescreen shortcut. Through the Camera app, users toggle 'Add Document Scan to Apps screen' under Camera → Scan → Document Scan. The move mirrors the ease of accessing other One UI utilities, streamlining the workflow for professionals and students alike in their daily document tasks across offices and classrooms for better organization.

Available models include the Galaxy S25, S25+, S25 Ultra, S25 Edge, Z Fold7, and Z Flip7. As Samsung rolls out the stable One UI 8.5, owners of these devices will gain the feature, while other eligible phones may or may not receive it. The rollout underscores Samsung’s push to unify software perks across its ecosystem for a user experience.

By extending Document Scan to legacy devices, Samsung tightens the argument that newer hardware is not a prerequisite for productivity tools. The feature also showcases One UI 8.5’s focus on seamless document handling, potentially nudging competitors to revisit their own scanning ecosystems. For users, the change means fewer apps and a more workflow in the near term.
