A 24-hour battery life test was conducted on three Google Pixel phones: the Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, and Pixel 10 Pro, to assess how well their batteries hold up over time. The Pixel 9 and 9 Pro feature 4,700mAh batteries and the Tensor G4 chip, while the Pixel 10 Pro has a 4,870mAh battery and the newer Tensor G5 chip.

All phones were updated to the latest Android 17, connected to the same Wi-Fi, charged to 100%, and subjected to a continuous YouTube video playback test. Initially, all phones performed similarly, dropping to about 92% in the first two hours. Meaningful differences emerged later, with the Pixel 9 Pro generally maintaining a slight lead.

The Pixel 9 was the first to die at 1:08 p.m., followed by the Pixel 10 Pro at 1:17 p.m. The Pixel 9 Pro lasted the longest, shutting down around 1:41 p.m., nearly 20 hours after the test began. Despite the Pixel 10 Pro having newer hardware, the older Pixel 9 Pro performed comparably and outlasted it, suggesting Google's efforts in long-term battery health are effective.
