Motorola Razr Ultra 2026 review: great phone, hard to justify the price

Motorola's Razr Ultra 2026 is a solid flip phone with improved cameras and all-day battery life, but a $200 price hike over the 2025 model makes it hard to recommend. The reviewer spent two weeks with the device and found performance strong, yet the lack of meaningful hardware changes soured the experience.

Same dimensions as last year, same Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, and only minor camera tweaks greet buyers. Motorola added 300mAh to the battery using silicon-carbon cells, bringing capacity to 5,000mAh, but the phone remains thick when folded compared to the Galaxy Z Flip 7. The 68W charging and brighter AMOLED panels are welcome, yet incremental updates don't offset the steep price.

Android 16 on the Razr Ultra 2026 delivers practical software gains like Live Updates on the cover screen and a revamped Quick Settings menu with resizable tiles. The cover screen finally supports video wallpapers, a long-requested feature. Still, these refinements feel like catch-up rather than forward momentum.

Motorola held the line on design while bumping battery capacity, which is technically impressive but ultimately the Razr Ultra 2026 feels like a refined repeat rather than a compelling upgrade.
