Honor has rolled out a substantial April update for the Magic 8 Pro, enhancing the device's photography capabilities with a 200x focal length extension for its telephoto camera. The 1.2GB update also introduces Honor Connect, enabling seamless file transfers between Honor devices and Macs through the Connected Files feature when Honor WorkStation is installed on the computer.

The software refresh brings significant improvements to both home and lock screens. Users can now quickly dismiss folders and uninstall multiple apps simultaneously. The lock screen receives customizable one-tap actions for frequently used widgets, along with options to personalize the fingerprint icon and animation. Additional features include an AI button for quick access to various services.

Beyond user interface enhancements, the patch addresses system stability, occasional stuttering, and battery life optimizations. This update further establishes Honor's commitment to photography excellence, following the device's showcase at Snapdragon Summit 2025 with its Dual Engine approach for on-device AI and Magic Color engine. The changes demonstrate Honor's ongoing refinement of its flagship experience.
