Google's June Pixel Drop begins rolling out today to Pixel phones and the Pixel Watch, coinciding with the official launch of Android 17. The update introduces several new capabilities including Screen Reactions, which merges selfie videos with screen recordings to create instant green screen effects without additional apps. This feature lands on all Pixel phones and folds running Android 17.

Bubbles arrive as another multitasking enhancement, transforming apps like Chrome, Calendar, and Gemini into floating overlays. Pixel Fold users get the Bubble Bar interface instead, offering organized quick access between apps. These additions reflect Google's push to refine the user experience on its latest mobile platform.

Several existing features expand to broader audiences. Conversational photo editing in Google Photos reaches Germany, UK, France, Spain, and Italy for Pixel 6 and newer devices. Voice Translate comes to the Pixel 10a, while Quick Share compatibility extends to Pixel 9a and 8a models. Magic Cue expands to additional messaging apps, primarily supporting the Pixel 10 series.

Pixel Watch users gain Emergency Detection, integrating severe event recognition for car crashes, falls, and loss of pulse. When triggered, the watch automatically contacts emergency services and alerts chosen contacts with customizable settings. Gemini Omni and Lyria 3 AI features also debut, bringing video editing and music generation tools to Gemini Pro subscribers on Android 17 devices.
