Google has confirmed to Android Central that there are no Googlebook announcements to expect on September 15. The company will instead share more details about the platform as they become available.

Originally, Google planned to showcase its new Googlebook platform at an in-person media event in New York City on September 15, 2026. The event was set to include a keynote detailing Googlebook's software, Gemini features, and native Android codebase. Google also planned hands-on stations featuring hardware from partners like Lenovo, ASUS, and HP.

At The Android Show earlier this year, alongside announcing Android 17, Google first introduced its premium laptop lineup called Googlebooks. The laptops are being built from the ground up for Gemini Intelligence, with features like custom widgets and Magic Pointer. However, Google remained quiet about the platform during the recent Pixel 11 launch.

Leaks have already given an early look at some of Lenovo's upcoming Googlebooks, which are expected to feature Google's Hi Light LED bar seen on the Google Home Speaker and Pixel 11 Pro lineup.
