Google is rolling out a major update to Chrome on Android in the U.S., integrating Gemini AI features for all users. This includes webpage summarization, Q&A capabilities, and the ability to connect apps like Calendar and Keep directly within the browser. AI Pro and Ultra subscribers gain access to auto-browse, which lets Gemini perform tasks such as ordering items or booking events based on user prompts. Image generation via Nano Banana is also available in this update.

The update brings Gemini 3.1 to Android devices, with its icon conveniently placed in the Chrome toolbar. Google emphasizes that auto-browse aims to simplify tedious everyday tasks. For example, users can ask Gemini to find and purchase a pet bowl on Chewy, with the AI outlining its plan before executing. Users retain control by reviewing actions and stepping in when needed, such as when customization is required.

Google highlights ongoing efforts to implement safeguards as Gemini becomes more deeply integrated into Chrome. Personal Intelligence features are also introduced, tailoring AI responses to individual preferences and hobbies. The rollout is currently live for U.S. Android users.
