Galaxy Z Flip 8 Battery Upgrade Might Not Happen

New rumors suggest Samsung's Galaxy Z Flip 8 may retain the same 4,300mAh battery capacity as its predecessor, disappointing those hoping for improved endurance. According to reports, the foldable phone will feature two batteries - EB-BF776 at 1,150mAh and EB-BF777 at 3,024mAh - combining for a total of 4,174mAh, which Samsung will likely advertise as 4,300mAh.

This would mark a departure from Samsung's recent pattern of incremental battery improvements for the Flip line. The Galaxy Z Flip 6 jumped from 3,700mAh to 4,000mAh, then to 4,300mAh on the Flip 7. While the increase wasn't dramatic, it still provided users with slightly more usage time before charging became necessary.

Other rumored specifications for the Flip 8 include a thinner and lighter design, approximately 10% reduction in thickness, and a camera setup featuring a 50MP main sensor, 12MP ultrawide, and 10MP selfie camera. Notably absent from current rumors is any mention of a telephoto lens, which would be a missed opportunity for photography enthusiasts. The decision to maintain battery capacity while pursuing other design improvements suggests Samsung is prioritizing form factor over battery life for this generation.
