Galaxy Watch 9 leak hints at summer launch and modest price hike

A leak traced to tipster On Leaks suggests Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Watch 9 will arrive in 40 mm and 44 mm sizes this summer. Renderings show a design nearly identical to the Watch 8, retaining the squircle aesthetic but with a subtly sported band featuring a central divot. Two colorways per size—Cream, Graphite, Silver—are hinted at. The renders also reveal a thinner bezel and a polished stainless-steel finish.

Samsung confirmed during a Health app overhaul that the new watch will run on the Snapdragon Wear Elite chipset, promising faster sensor processing and smoother UI. The update also teases health metrics like Daily Cardio Load and a Heart Health Score, which will debut on the Watch 9. Connectivity options include Bluetooth and LTE, mirroring the current lineup. Battery stays at 340 mAh, keeping 10 W wired charging.

Pricing rumors indicate a modest bump of roughly $50 over this year’s models, reflecting incremental hardware tweaks rather than a full redesign. Samsung’s decision to retain the familiar silhouette may ease adoption for existing Wear OS users while keeping production costs low. With the Ultra 2 also slated for a summer launch, the Watch 9 rounds out a busy smartwatch calendar.
