Android 17 Quick Settings Overhaul Leaked

Latest from Android Central •

Android 17 leaks point to a major Quick Settings redesign, according to details from Mystic Leaks on Telegram. The update may finally split notifications and system toggles into separate pull-down menus, undoing years of the cluttered single-shade design on stock Pixel phones.

Instead of one crowded panel, swiping from the left could reveal notifications while the right brings up Quick Settings. This mirrors Samsung and Xiaomi’s approach but would be native to Android. Wi-Fi and mobile data toggles might also separate again, reversing Android 12’s controversial combined Internet tile.

For regular Pixel users, this split layout will likely be optional, letting you choose the classic combined view. However, tablets and foldables may force the new split design on larger screens. Google is still testing these changes, so nothing is guaranteed before the official release.

What happens next: Google typically unveils new Android versions at its I/O conference in May. If testing continues, expect public beta builds next spring, with a stable release slated for late summer.
