The Wikipedia app for iOS has been updated with a new Home Screen widget for iPhone and iPad. This widget, available in small and medium sizes, features a mascot and allows users to tap it to open a completely random Wikipedia article.

Once a random article is opened, the widget also enables "randomizer mode." This means users can tap a button within the widget to be taken to another random article without needing to exit the app or tap the widget again. This feature is designed to facilitate further exploration down Wikipedia's vast collection of information.

This addition follows a previous update to the Wikipedia app that introduced a historical facts trivia game earlier in the summer. Users can find the new random article widget by updating their Wikipedia app to the latest version.
