SwitchBot has unveiled the Lock Vision and Lock Vision Pro, smart locks that support Matter over Wi-Fi natively for Apple Home. This eliminates the need for a separate hub, requiring only an Apple TV or HomePod for integration. The locks introduce advanced 3D facial recognition using 20,000 infrared points for secure, sub-second unlocking, with all biometric data stored locally.

Beyond facial ID, the standard Lock Vision offers passcodes and NFC cards. The Pro model adds semiconductor fingerprint and contactless palm vein scanning. Power management features a 10000mAh rechargeable battery lasting up to 12 months, a CR123A emergency backup, and an exterior USB-C port for temporary power, all optimized by mmWave radar to activate scanning only when needed.

The core features—large battery, Matter over Wi-Fi, and 3D facial recognition—are identical in both models. The $169.99 Lock Vision and $229.99 Lock Vision Pro are available starting today on Amazon with launch day deals. The primary distinction is the Pro's additional biometric sensors, catering to users wanting multiple secure entry options.
