Martin Scorsese's upcoming Apple Original Films feature What Happens at Night has added Jared Harris to an already impressive ensemble cast. The film, based on Peter Cameron's 2020 novel, will star Harris alongside Leonardo DiCaprio, Jennifer Lawrence, Patricia Clarkson, and Mads Mikkelsen in a story about an American couple's adoption journey in a snowy European city.

This marks yet another collaboration between Scorsese and Apple, following their successful partnership on Killers of the Flower Moon (10 Academy Award nominations), the documentary Mr. Scorsese, and Scorsese's memorable appearance in The Studio. The director previously worked with Apple on the iPhone 4S Siri campaign, demonstrating a long-standing relationship with the tech giant.

The film was originally scheduled to begin production last month and will be set primarily at the Borgarfjaroasysla Grand Imperial Hotel, described as a cavernous, eerily deserted location with a perpetually open bar and a restaurant serving thirteen-course dinners from centuries past. This project continues Scorsese's trend of high-profile collaborations with streaming platforms and his work with top-tier talent.
