Runna, a personal running coaching app, has launched a new "Adapt for Heat" feature that automatically adjusts training pace targets based on local heat and humidity. This feature aims to help runners identify cooler times to run and modify their pace, with a color-coded hourly forecast to guide their planning.

Research by Runna indicated that 80% of its users adapt or skip runs due to hot weather. The "Adapt for Heat" feature ensures that runners can continue to train effectively and safely even during high temperatures by providing adjusted pace targets. This update is part of a broader rollout of new features designed to support users throughout their entire training cycle.

In addition to "Adapt for Heat," Runna has also relaunched its "Post-Race Recovery Plan" feature, automatically generated for users starting a 5k-50k race plan. These plans are crafted by expert coaches, including Steph Kessell, to minimize burnout and injury risk. Furthermore, "Upcoming Plans," launching in August, will allow users to schedule multiple training plans in advance, seamlessly transitioning between them while retaining preferences and performance data.
