Opera Expands Browser Connector to All Browsers

Opera is expanding its Browser Connector functionality beyond Opera Neon to both Opera One and Opera GX browsers. Following last month's launch of MCP compatibility in its subscription-based agentic browser, Opera now allows users of all three browsers to connect external AI tools directly to their live browsing sessions.

The MCP (Model Context Protocol) compatibility enables AI assistants like ChatGPT, Claude, and others to access browser tabs, interact with web pages, and perform actions on behalf of users. This functionality removes the need for users to manually provide context to AI tools, as the AI can now read page content, understand open tabs, and take screenshots for analysis.

Available today in Early Bird mode, the feature reaffirms Opera's commitment to user choice, ensuring customers aren't locked into a single ecosystem. Users can enable Browser Connector through Settings > AI Services > install Browser Connector > connect their preferred LLM, bringing AI integration directly into their browsing experience.
