Cosmic Perspective is filming NASA's Artemis II Moon mission launch using Apple Immersive Video technology for the Apple Vision Pro. The roughly 10-day crewed flight around the Moon will mark the first crewed mission in the Artemis program, with specialized Blackmagic cameras already positioned at the Florida launch site to capture the historic event.

Apple's immersive format utilizes 180-degree stereoscopic video and spatial audio to place viewers directly inside the scene, creating an experience that traditional video cannot match. This approach will recreate the scale and intensity of the rocket launch for viewers, offering a perspective previously only available to those physically present at liftoff.

Cosmic Perspective has concentrated on filming space launches in 3D and immersive formats, with Artemis II representing their highest-profile project for Apple Vision Pro. Unlike previous instrument-only missions, this crewed flight adds significant emotional weight and raises the stakes for the immersive experience.

The collaboration expands Apple's growing library of immersive content, which now includes sports, concerts, nature programming, and now space exploration. This partnership demonstrates how space technology and consumer entertainment continue to converge in innovative ways.
