With macOS Sonoma, Apple introduced High Performance screen sharing, a feature designed to drastically improve the screen sharing experience. This upgrade enhances responsiveness, enables stereo sound, and supports HDR. It's especially beneficial for creative professionals using apps like Final Cut Pro or Logic Pro, providing a smoother remote experience with minimal drawbacks, promising a more seamless workflow.

To use this feature, you'll need Apple Silicon Macs running macOS Sonoma 14 or later. A fast, stable network connection is also essential, with Apple recommending a wired network of at least 75Mbps for a single 4K display. This ensures the low latency that makes the feature so useful. Users can also enable dual virtual displays.

The key benefits include reduced latency, better sound quality, and improved color. The reduced latency makes remote control feel almost native. High Performance mode also supports HDR video content. Users can only initiate one High Performance session at a time, and the maximum resolution is 4K (3840 x 2160).

This update reflects Apple's ongoing efforts to enhance the user experience, especially for creative professionals. While remote access and screen sharing have been around for a while, Apple is now focusing on improving the experience. Expect to see more improvements in remote work capabilities as technology evolves.
