Apple has released the first Release Candidate (RC) of macOS 27 Golden Gate to developers and public beta testers, signaling the final stage before the official launch. The RC focuses on stability and performance, with no major new features compared to recent betas. Key additions in the beta cycle include a new Siri app powered by Apple's revamped AI, an AI-driven Shortcuts app that understands natural language, and Safari's new prompt-based extension builder.

The update also brings Golden Gate-themed wallpapers and restores fixed-radius corners for windows, reversing the dynamic corner design from macOS 26. The build number is 26A5284q. To install, back up your Mac, open System Settings, go to General > Software Update, click the 'i' icon next to Beta Updates, select 'macOS Developer Golden Gate Beta' (or Public Beta), and hit Done.
