Apple has released the official wallpapers for macOS 27 Golden Gate months ahead of the operating system's actual launch. The company broke from its usual naming convention, skipping national parks and natural landmarks in favor of San Francisco's iconic Golden Gate Bridge. These static light and dark versions give users early access to the visual theme before the full OS arrives.

The wallpapers feature curved shapes that form a stylized '27' and align with variations appearing across iOS 27 and iPadOS 27. Unlike the dynamic wallpapers that ship with the system, these high-resolution static versions work on current macOS builds. Users can download them directly and set through System Settings > Wallpaper > Your Photos, or by right-clicking images in Finder and selecting Set Desktop Picture.

Alongside the wallpaper release, Apple previewed several Liquid Glass improvements and a redesigned Siri AI assistant with dedicated app support. The update also brings advanced Shortcuts featuring natural language processing capabilities.
