macOS 27 Golden Gate adds resizable iPhone Mirroring with multiple aspect ratios

Apple's macOS 27 Golden Gate finally addresses a longstanding limitation in iPhone Mirroring by enabling window resizing beyond the iPhone's fixed aspect ratio. The update allows users to adjust both size and proportions, offering several predefined ratios instead of the previous one-size-fits-all approach.

Previously, iPhone Mirroring maintained the exact dimensions of an iPhone screen regardless of user preference. Now the system can display either modified iPhone layouts or iPad versions of apps when developers compile with iOS 27 support. This automatic adaptation means most native apps will work immediately once updated.

The feature expansion also brings Control Center integration to mirrored sessions, joining existing support for the Home Screen, App Switcher, and Spotlight search. Users can access quick settings toggles without reaching for their physical device.

These changes transform iPhone Mirroring from a novelty into a practical tool for Mac users who regularly reference their phone during work sessions.
