MacBook Neo Charging Secrets Uncovered

Contrary to Apple's claims about the MacBook Neo's charging limitations, tests reveal the laptop actually charges faster with a more powerful adapter. While Apple states the Neo doesn't support fast charging and supplies only a 20W adapter, independent testing shows the machine benefits from beefier power bricks despite official limitations.

When Macworld tested charging from 20% with both adapters, the 96W charger delivered double the charging speed - reaching 50% in just 30 minutes compared to 35% with the included 20W adapter. Apple's definition of "fast charging" requires 50% charge in 30 minutes, a standard the Neo cannot meet regardless of charger power.

The Neo can only draw a maximum of 24 watts, meaning any charger above this capacity provides identical results. European buyers, who must purchase their own adapters due to Apple's questionable legal claims about EU legislation, can opt for a more powerful model that charges their machine faster than the minimum requirement.
