MacBook Neo Battery Life Revealed: 1,000 Cycle Limit

Apple has confirmed the MacBook Neo features a 1,000-cycle battery limit, matching most current MacBook models. The company updated its support documentation to include this specification for the new laptop, which comes with a 36.5-watt-hour lithium-ion battery.

A battery cycle counts when a Mac consumes the energy equivalent of 100% of its capacity, which can happen over multiple charges. For example, using 50% today, 30% tomorrow, and 20% the next day counts as one complete cycle. This means the 1,000-cycle limit translates to roughly 2.7 years of daily full use or up to nine years for lighter users.

The MacBook Neo's battery limit puts it on par with MacBook, MacBook Pro, and MacBook Air models Apple has sold since 2009. Earlier models had limits between 300 and 500 cycles. Users can check their battery cycle count by holding the Option key while clicking the Apple menu, selecting System Information, and viewing the Power section under Hardware.
