iPhone Ultra Interest High But Price Concerns Remain

A CNET survey of 2,605 US adults reveals that while 75% aren't interested in a foldable iPhone, 25% do find the concept appealing. However, Apple shouldn't get too excited, as willingness to pay falls far short of expected pricing.

Interest varies significantly by generation: Gen Z shows the highest interest at 31%, followed by Millennials at 32%, Gen X at 23%, and Boomers at just 13%.

Gen Z respondents were willing to pay the most at $919, while the average across all US adults was only $781. The actual price is likely to start no lower than $2,000, creating a substantial gap between consumer expectations and reality.

While subsequent generations of Apple foldables may become somewhat more affordable as manufacturing costs fall, the product is expected to remain a niche offering through a combination of pricing and lack of pocketability.
