iPhone Fold Size Revealed: How It Compares to iPhone 18 Pro Max

Leaker Sonny Dickson has revealed dummy units showing the final dimensions of Apple's iPhone Fold next to the iPhone 18 Pro Max. The foldable iPhone features a passport-like form factor when closed, measuring wider and shorter than Apple's traditional pro models. When unfolded, the device will offer a 7.8-inch display, making it closer in usable screen size to an iPad mini than the Pro Max.

Apple's design approach prioritizes the unfolded experience, creating a wider closed device that enables a more expansive landscape display. This strategy differs from many Android foldables that use square aspect ratios when opened, which can be less ideal for watching 16:9 media content. The unfolded iPhone Fold will measure less than 5 millimeters thick, making it the thinnest iOS device ever produced.

Notably, the iPhone Fold will replace Face ID with Touch ID integrated into the side button, as Apple couldn't fit the Face ID components into the thin body. When folded, the device will be approximately 9.5 millimeters thick, slightly thicker than the iPhone 18 Pro Max's 8.75 millimeters. While dummy models aren't perfect representations, they provide valuable insight into Apple's final design approach for its first foldable iPhone.
