The iPhone Duo is almost here, and 9to5Mac has picked five accessories worth considering before launch. The first is Apple Pencil, which the iPhone Duo will be the first iPhone to support. Support arrives later this year via a software update, but only the Apple Pencil (USB-C) will be compatible. It works on both the outer and inner displays, and the foldable's design was inspired by the proportions of a standard A-series paper notebook. The Apple Pencil (USB-C) is now $69 (down from $79).
Next is a power adapter. The iPhone Duo supports fast charging, reaching 50 percent in just 20 minutes, but the fastest speeds require a suitable adapter. Apple's 40W Dynamic Power Adapter with 60W Max is priced at $34 (down from $39), and Anker's 100W USB-C Charger with 5FT Cable is $29. The iPhone Duo ships with only a USB-C cable, not a power adapter.
For drivers, ESR's MagSafe Car Mount is recommended. It offers a strong magnetic hold and clips to an A/C vent. Pairing the phone with CarPlay lets navigation appear on the car's screen while the iPhone shows full step-by-step directions, a setup the author expects to work even better with the Duo's large screen. The mount is now $19 (down from $29).
Cases are another option, since early cases preview the foldable's size and shape. Options include the SPIDERCASE Magnetic Case at $29, the Spigen Ultra Hybrid Pro at $34, Apple's iPhone Duo Folio with Kickstand at $129, and the Apple iPhone Duo Case at $79. Finally, the Stand By mode's Home Camera view can track security cameras at a glance, with the Aqara G100 2K at $35 and the eufy 4K at $69 as suggested options. AirPods Pro 3, currently on sale at Amazon, round out the list as a personal favorite.
