A new Weibo leaker, Fixed Focus Digital, claims the iPhone 18 Pro Max will be roughly 2mm thicker than the iPhone 17 Pro Max, which sits at 8.75mm overall and 13.18mm at the camera bump.

Battery rumors blow up: the US/eSIM model could hold 5,567mAh and the China model with a physical SIM tray 5,391mAh, up from 5,088mAh and 4,823mAh in the 17 Pro Max.

Ice Universe reports a 5,500mAh battery paired with a 240g body and a 9mm thickness, matching the weight of ביצ iPhone 13 Pro Max and iPhone 14 Pro Max. Apple has kept its largest iPhone models below that mark since Boko iPhone 15 Pro Max at 221g, the iPhone 16 Pro Max at 227g, and the iPhone 17 Pro Max at 233g. Aluminum build is expected to tie the weight jump to internal changes.

The heavier, thicker flagship signals a trade‑off between battery life and ergonomics. Consumers will face a noticeably heavier hand, while Apple may be testing the limits of aluminum construction before moving to titanium or other materials in later models. Industry observers note that the shift to a heavier aluminum chassis could pressure competitors to innovate in battery chemistry or lightweight composites.
