iPhone 18 Pro Design Changes: Three Major Updates Coming

Apple's iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max are getting a significant visual refresh this fall, with three notable design shifts on the way. The most welcome change addresses a polarizing element from recent models: the two-tone rear glass and aluminum that created a jarring color mismatch. According to Weibo leaker Instant Digital, the iPhone 18 Pro series will feature a redesigned back glass that creates a seamless, unified look between the glass and aluminum panel.

The Dynamic Island is also shrinking. After conflicting early reports about a potential hole-punch design, the latest evidence points toward a smaller Dynamic Island—approximately 35% smaller on both Pro models. Some Face ID components are moving under the display, though Apple isn't ready to abandon the pill-shaped cutout entirely.

Color options are getting bolder too. Apple surprised everyone with the vibrant Cosmic Orange on iPhone 17 Pro, and rumors suggest that fun Pro colors are here to stay. Four colors are reportedly coming: Light Blue, Dark Cherry, Silver, and Dark Gray. The standout appears to be Dark Cherry—a rich blend of burgundy, coffee, and deep purple that's expected to dominate Apple's marketing efforts.
