iOS 27.2 arrived last week with a variety of new features and changes for iPhone. Two new iOS 27.2 features have been particularly well-received. First, Apple Podcasts introduces 'New Episodes' and 'Continue Playing' sections, splitting the Up Next queue into two distinct categories to help users better track in-progress shows and new arrivals.
Second, Shared Albums in Apple Photos gains the ability to edit captions and comments, prevent duplicate photo additions, and display reminders before albums expire. These updates address long-standing user frustrations with the Podcasts queue and Photo sharing capabilities. iOS 27.2 also includes honorable mentions for CarPlay improvements, iPhone Duo features, Find My updates, and Siri AI enhancements. Other notable additions involve Messages and various system tweaks.
The update represents a mix of refinements to core apps and new functionality across the iOS ecosystem.
