Apple has released iOS 26.4 beta 1 with several notable features, including the first look at Notification Forwarding setup for third-party smartwatches in the EU. The update introduces a streamlined pairing process similar to AirPods, allowing users to forward notifications from specific apps to compatible devices. Apple is rolling out this feature in response to EU regulations requiring greater interoperability.

Another significant addition is the ability to enable search on iCloud.com for Photos and iCloud Drive content. Users can navigate to Settings → User → iCloud → iCloud.com to activate this feature, which requires approval on trusted devices. The search functionality is currently in beta and accessible through the iCloud Beta website, providing secure access to personal data through web browsers.

The beta also simplifies browser data migration by allowing direct import and export between Safari and other web browsers, eliminating the previous Files app limitation. Additionally, Apple has introduced two new ambient music widgets in small and medium sizes for quick access to playlists from the Home screen. The update includes further evidence of the upcoming HomePad smart home device, featuring a new CompanionSetup system app and an unfamiliar chime sound.

These updates demonstrate Apple's continued refinement of iOS with practical features that enhance user experience while expanding functionality across devices and platforms.
