As part of today's Gemini 4 Argon rollout, Google is making a major update to the Gemini app for macOS by integrating Antigravity. Antigravity is Google's agent-first development platform, with version 2.0 introduced at I/O 2026. It was previously available as a standalone app for Mac, Windows, Linux, and most recently Googlebook (Android).

Since May, Google has been updating Antigravity at a rapid pace, with major updates arriving weekly or even every few days. Now the platform comes directly into the Gemini app on macOS. Users will see a new Liquid Glass pill for Antigravity in the top-right corner, with the same button used to exit. Tapping it launches the full experience found in the dedicated application.

Google cites Gemini 4 Argon's upgraded coding capabilities as the reason for the integration. The change lets users build apps, web experiences, and more from a single app. As of today, the new model requires AI Pro or above in the Gemini app, but Antigravity access requires AI Ultra.

The Gemini app for macOS also gets a new "Chat" and "Task" switcher, with "Task" replacing the name Gemini Spark. It appears below the prompt box, and the navigation drawer receives a significant update. Search has moved to the top-right corner of the panel, and a new Scheduled view shows both Spark tasks and Scheduled actions. In addition, @ (mention) now accesses Skills, replacing the / (slash) command. In the side panel, "Customize" lets users reach Skills and Connectors, the new name for Connected Apps. Users should make sure they are running the latest version of the Gemini app for macOS.
