Google has made Gemini 4 Argon, its latest frontier model, globally available today to developers and enterprises via the API in AI Studio and the Gemini platform. Google AI Ultra subscribers can access it in Google Antigravity, while Google AI Ultra and Pro subscribers can use it in the Gemini app and AI Mode in Search.

Argon is designed for deep work on complex, real-world tasks across coding, finance, legal, cybersecurity, and science. Its depth and precision across multi-step tasks lead it to outperform other frontier models on benchmarks, ranking #1 on the Vals Index, which measures performance across critical economic sectors like finance, coding, legal, and tax work. The model launches at an introductory price of $2 per million input tokens and $10 per million output tokens, with cached input tokens at 95% off.

Teams at Google, across enterprises, and in the research community have already used Argon for significant engineering work. Inside Google, software engineers using Argon in Antigravity helped teams increase agentic code submissions by more than 35% while reducing code rollbacks by nearly a third. In one case, Argon helped the Chrome team separate core webpage handling from a legacy folder of roughly 6 million lines of browser code, completing months of architectural refactoring in weeks.

Researchers have also applied Argon to scientific software. Using Argon in Antigravity, Google's researchers made the open-source quantum chemistry package xTB up to 2.3x faster at predicting molecular structures, and Google reported a 2.85x end-to-end inference speedup for its open Gemma models on an A100 GPU, with no quality drop.
