Flighty Adds AI‑Powered Airport Intelligence to App and Web

Flighty rolled out a major update today, adding an Airport Intelligence layer that now appears in the iPhone app and on the web. The new 4.8 release lets users see real‑time airport conditions worldwide, not just in the United States. Even non‑users can visit flighty.com/airports for the latest status.

The feature listens for disruptions, extreme weather, traffic jams, low staffing, and more. It then feeds that data into an AI engine that merges it with live flight status to generate a live explanation of conditions at every airport. The result is a dynamic, data‑driven view that shows why a delay is happening right now.

Within the app, users see an Airport Status Map that highlights the most disrupted airports and offers live stats or daily totals. Each flight lists the airport’s status and specific weather delay reasons pulled directly from METAR and TAF reports, such as de‑icing, low visibility, or hail. A Meltdown Forecasting graph shows delay trends over time.

Additional perks include a Runway Regulars podium that compares how often you and friends visit an airport, a favorite‑airport alert system, and a suite of airport‑centric tools like departure performance charts, airline impact lists, and official airport website links. For travelers, the update turns raw data into actionable insights that can shape flight plans and reduce frustration.
