Apple is reportedly preparing a significant expansion into the smart home market with three new devices nearing launch. The first wave, expected this fall, includes an updated Apple TV set-top box and a refreshed HomePod mini, both featuring faster processors for enhanced Siri AI capabilities. The current Apple TV 4K uses the A15 Bionic chip, while the HomePod mini employs the S5 chip.

More notably, a new smart home hub device is slated for release between October and early next year. Two versions are in development: one with a half-dome base and another designed for wall mounting with a magnetic system. This hub is expected to sport a 7-inch square display, run a new OS based on tvOS, and integrate features like FaceTime, home security monitoring, and HomeKit. A standout capability will be facial recognition to personalize the interface for individual users.

Beyond these, Apple is also working on a more advanced, robotic home hub with a 9-inch display and a sophisticated in-home security camera for future releases.
