Apple TV returns its two Emmy‑winning series this fall, bolstering the platform’s reputation for prestige comedy. Ted Lasso arrives for a fourth season on August 5, dropping the premiere episode before moving to weekly releases through October 7. The show keeps Jason Sudeikis and core cast while adding newcomers, and brings veteran writer Jack Burditt into the writers’ room again.

The second returning title, The Studio, will launch its sophomore season later this year, though Apple has not set a precise date. Produced by Lionsgate, the comedy swept major awards for its debut, including an Emmy for Outstanding Comedy Series and a Golden Globe. Season 2 is already filming this and features high‑profile cameos from Madonna, Julia Garner, Donald Glover and Michael Keaton.

Both series reinforce Apple TV’s strategy of using award‑winning originals to justify its $12.99 monthly fee and to attract subscribers to the Apple One bundle. By delivering fresh content from proven talent, the service aims to keep churn low and compete with rival streaming giants that rely on volume over critical acclaim. The upcoming releases should significantly drive immediate subscriber growth.
