Apple is set to launch new Apple TV 4K and HomePod models next week, with fresh features uncovered in recent software leaks. tvOS 27.2, HomePod 27.2, and iOS 27.2 beta 3 releases reveal significant updates. Apple Intelligence is coming to Apple TV, led by Siri AI, expected to be exclusive to new hardware. iOS 27.2 beta 3 introduces HomeKit code suggesting nearby smart-home accessories could display controls in the iPhone's Dynamic Island through a new proximity manager method. On the HomePod side, surround sound features emerge with Siri able to match speakers to their surround systems, using diagnostic codes like "Accessory [X] is a speaker in surround system [Y]." When HomePod joins a Home Theater group with eligible Apple TV, it gains a proxy-activation path for Siri requests. Additionally, Apple TV profiles expand image options to include characters from Apple TV shows like Ted Lasso and Mark S. from Severance, alongside existing emoji choices.
