Apple Sports gets CarPlay widgets in 3.10 update

Apple rolled out Apple Sports version 3.10, bringing the first CarPlay widgets to iPhone users. The update adds two small widgets—My Teams on the left and Leagues on the right—that appear on a car’s display without a dedicated CarPlay app. Fans can now glance at scores and standings while driving, extending the app’s iPhone‑centric experience into the vehicle.

Configuration lives in the iPhone Settings app under General > CarPlay > My Car > Widgets. Users drag a Sports widget into any CarPlay stack, then tap the “i” icon to pick favorite teams for My Teams or select which leagues appear. Depending on screen resolution, one to three stacks show, and enabling Smart Display Zoom can squeeze in an extra stack. The changes sync instantly after the app update.

The same release bundles new Formula 1 data, showing track temperature, wind speed and other weather details for each Grand Prix. It also teases 2026 World Cup tracking, letting users follow their chosen nations and explore group standings before the tournament launches in June. Apple Sports remains a free download on the App Store, now richer for commuters and sports enthusiasts alike.
